AN AVIC International Company employee in Mufulira has been accidentally crashed by a colleague with a concrete mixing machine.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner, Charity Katanga, confirmed the development in Ndola on Thursday and and identified the deceased as Edwin Chama.

Commissioner Katanga said Chama was crushed to death on August 6, 2019 after Bernard Mulenga, an operator, accidentally switched on the concrete mixer whilst Chama was cleaning it.

Katanga said Chama sustained a crushed left leg which led to heavy bleeding, and that he died upon arrival at Ronald Ross General Hospital.

She said Mulenga was being held in police custody for manslaughter and would appear in court soon.
