Vice President Inonge Wina has urged youths in the country to participate and provide solutions to issues that concern their wellbeing.
Mrs Wina says it is unfortunate that often youths are not effectively given appropriate space to air their views.
She was speaking during the official opening of the 2019 Triennial conference and council of the global fellowship of Christian youth in Lusaka today.
Mrs Wina said the boys brigade in Zambia has continued to contribute to the spiritual development of young people and supporting government efforts on youth empowerment.
And speaking earlier when he delivered a sermon Boys Brigade Zambia Chaplain Samuel Zulu urged the youth to be of good character and not be used as tools of violence.
Meanwhile Youth, Sports and Child development Minister Emmanuel Mulenga called on the Church leadership to teach young people to respect leaders.
Boys Brigade Zambia National Patron Andrew Kamanga said the brigade in Zambia will continue to be an effective channel for youth development.
And Global Fellowship Chairperson Masauso Mwanza said they remain steadfast in complementing government efforts in education and poverty reduction.
The conference has attracted 40 participants from 15 countries.
