A 74-YEAR-OLD Lusaka man’s plea to be exempted from going to prison on account of old age could not prevent a magistrate from imposing a three-year jail term on him for swindling an accountant out of K250,000 under the pretext that he had land for sale.
Before sending Peter Manda to jail, Lusaka magistrate Felix Kaoma said it was unfortunate that the convict was engaging in illegalities at the expense of being a reservoir of wisdom for youths.
