The Zambia Union of Nurses (ZUNO) has questioned how the directive by President Edgar Lungu that all nurses that graduate should be employed will work if those employed four months ago are yet to be added to the payroll.
ZUNO General Secretary Fray Michelo says his organization is disappointed to note that the 3000 nurses employed four months ago have not been added to the payroll while the few that were fortunate have not been paid for substantive months they worked for.
There is growing frustration among the 3000 nurses who were employed countrywide after President Edgar Lungu’s directive four months ago but have not been put on the payroll resulting in some of them leaving their work stations while others have been advised by their supervisors to go back home and report back for work when they are put on the payroll.
And Mr. Michelo has revealed that there are very few of the 3000 employed nurses that were incorporated on the payroll especially that government is yet to communicate the figures and if all the affected nurses will be paid for the entire four months they have worked without pay.
There are a lot of jobs for nurses in Europe. Why not move there?? It is a free world
