We, a consortium of political parties and non -governmental organizations, commend President Edgar Lungu for his watershed address to the National Assembly as he has inspired the majority Zambians and given hope to women, the youth and the vulnerable people in our society.

Indeed, President Lungu’s address to the National Assembly highlights how Government intends to address critical broad range of issues affecting the people of Zambia such as electricity supply, water supply, access to quality education and health, food production and value chain, job creation, constitution making process and the overall agenda to spur and accelerate economic development and improve the Zambian people’s livelihoods.

We are appealing to both the ruling and opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) to heed the Republican President’s clarion call to all Zambians to join hands in finding lasting smart solutions to the country’s challenges, and rise to the occasion by digesting the speech for them to debate effectively.
