With the nation still left aghast with the death of a young married Copperbelt University lecturer, Dr Maxiliam Mwanza who was murdered in the wee hours of the morning on the 4th of October while taking back his girlfriend to her boarding house. New information making rounds is that the purported girlfriend or side chick actually planned and connived with the assailant in view of stealing part of the money the young lecturer had in his car.
While I sympathize with the widow on her loss and that of her children if any, and that of the Copperbelt University for losing one of their staff members, Dr Mainza’ s death could have been avoided and it leaves lessons for many married men involved in extra marital affairs. And these are;
1. A side chick will always be a side chick whose loyalty is only to your financial provisions, nothing more.
2. When all is said and done, should anything go wrong it’s your family that gets affected.
3. All the respect garnered over years of hard work can easily be lost over such relationships, something that is not worth losing it for while the side chick will go on and rebuild her life.
4. Incase of death as in the current case, loss of a career, leaving a widow and orphans plus dying in adultery awaiting condemnation in the final judgement.
Finally, no matter how expensive the casket the doctor was buried in or how great the burial send off was, his death is self caused and an embarrassment. I hope all married men will learn from this not to have side chicks and be faithful to their wives.
