Mealie Meal prices in Ndola on the Copperbelt have gone up by over K10.
A check in the Ndola Central Business District has revealed that a 25kg bag of mealie meal is now selling between k150 and K160 from the previous K140 depending on the brand.
And some retailers talked to have attributed the increase on the country’s staple food to continued change in wholesale price.
The retailers say millers have been changing prices of the commodity on a weekly basis hence their decision to hike the price.
Recently, millers indicated that mealie meal prices will go up following the continued increase in the country’s inflation rate which currently stands at 10.7%.
