More Farmers Benefit From Zambia Breweries Cassava Project

Small scale farmers benefiting from the Zambia breweries cassava project in Luapula and Northern provinces has risen from 1,000 in 2017 when it was launched to over 6,000 in 2019.

And company director for corporate affairs, Ezekiel Sekele says Zambia breweries has since partnered with MTN Zambia mobile money and Airtel money for farmers to get their dues electronically.

In an interview with phoenix business news, Mr Sekele said almost half of the total number of farmers have already been placed on the digital platform.
Zambian breweries uses the cassava as raw material for its eagle lager beer production and farmers in northern and Luapula provinces have increased the production due to guaranteed market.
