We, a consortium of political parties and non-governmental organizations commends President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for highlighting how his government is tackling critical and key issues affecting the Zambian people during the “media get together” briefing at State House.

We are also elated that he adequately addressed issues related to street vendors and marketeers, and all other pertinent issues of great concern to the Zambian people such as solutions to load shedding, stabilizing the mealie meal price, sustainable national debt management, prudent use of government resources, constitution making process, intra party democracy, upholding the rule of law, abuse of the freedom of expression and the media and many others.

In fact, the Republican President’s address on the state of the nation has indeed shamed his critics who often attack him through the social media platforms alleging that he is afraid of addressing the nation through the media.

Moreover, President Lungu has underscored his tacit commitment to improve the welfare of all Zambians without leaving anyone behind.
