Kitwe Ritualists Strike Again

IN A suspected ritual killing, an unidentified man of Kitwe was yesterday found dead with his palms and legs cut off from his body near Nakayombo Cemetery in Ganerton Township.

Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday. Mrs Katanga said alert members of the public found the body near the cemetery around 07:00 hours yesterday and immediately informed the police about it. She said police officers inspected the scene and found that the victim’s body had a deep cut on the forehead.

“The victim is between 50 and 55 years old. He was found with no palms, they were cut near the wrist,” she said. Mrs Katanga also said police yesterday picked another body of a 32-year-old woman whose body was found with several stab wounds. She identified the dead woman as Gloria Chilufya, of house number 1248 in Mulenga Township in Kitwe. Mrs Katanga said a sharp instrument is suspected to have been used to kill the woman.
