The Kitwe teaching hospital has expressed concern with the escalating trend of mothers dumping newly born babies after the hospital received a baby that was dumped in a pit latrine in Kwacha Compound.
Kitwe teaching Hospital Public Relations Officer Phoebe Chileya in an interview said that this is the 4th Dumped baby that the Hospital is receiving within this year.
And Ms. Chileya stated that the female baby weighing 2 Kilograms was brought in by the Kitwe City Council fire brigade yesterday and that she is fine and feeding well.
She however added that management at the Hospital is concerned with this vice as family planning services are offered free at the Hospital as well as other government health facilities which women who do not want to conceive can make use of.
