The Mulambo Haimbe Foundation yesterday made a Christmas donation to the elderly women of St. Mathias Mulamba Catholic Parish in Lusaka’s Bauleni compound.
Counsel Haimbe, a renowned legal practitioner and a founder of Mulambo Haimbe Foundation made the donation at St Mathias Bauleni Catholic Parish as part of the Christmas giving.
Counsel Haimbe, who is also aspiring candidate for Lusaka Central constituency under the UPND, said the donation is a non political, but a way of giving back to the needy in community.
“This donation that we are making here is in no way a political one aimed at making political gains, but our response to the Christian call to reach out to those who are not able to afford some basic needs of survival.
We are hopeful that this donation will go a long way in helping our old and elderly women to find joy at this time of giving,” said Haimbe.
And speaking shortly after the donation which included various food items, Haimbe said that every citizen had the responsibility to reach out to the less privileged in society.
He said that those who are more privileged than others need to stretch their hand and reach out to those who are not able to make ends meet.
Mr. Haimbe further encouraged every member of the UPND to emulate President Hakainde Hichilema in giving back to the community.
“I would also like to call upon you UPND members to emulate the spirit of Mr Hakainde Hichilema who has also been giving to society by endeavouring to reach out to needy in society,” said Haimbe.
And the elderly women have expressed happiness at the early Christmas gift, adding that the timely gesture was a rare privilege that was not anticipated.
