Statement On Government’s Performance In 2019 And Beyond

December 26, 2019

Whilst the country has been grappling with many social and economic challenges in 2019, the Government has been equal to the task in tackling the said issues.

Indeed, the Government under the able leadership of President Edgar Lungu has made great strides in tackling many critical issues affecting the Zambian people.

We have witnessed a continued reduction of price of mealie meal by some milling companies as a result of Government interventions.

The DMMU has also been distributing food relief to all hunger-hit areas in the country in line with President Lungu’s directive that no Zambian should die from hunger.

More so, Government recently assured the nation that there will be no increase in user fees in Schools.

Government has demonstrated a tacit commitment in addressing the country’s hydro-power deficit by embarking on alternative sources of energy projects.

It’s worth noting that the US government through Millennium Challenge Corporation (MMC) rated the Zambian Government ‘s performance highly on key issues such as Government effectiveness ,rule of law, corruption fight, democratic rights, girls primary education completion rate, health expenditure, child immunization and many more.

It’s also interesting to note that the country is undergoing a transformative process given the massive infrastructure developmental projects being rolled out across the country.

Moreover, the issues highlighted speaks volumes on President Lungu and his Government’s determination and commitment  in 2020 to further roll out a development agenda that is tailored not to leave anyone behind in their quest to  improve the Zambian people’s welfare.
