DISCLAIMER: NOT ALL ARTICLES WRITTEN BY ‘MAIKO’ ARE AUTHORED BY ‘MAIKO ZULU’

Fellow Citizens, It has come to my attention that a number of online publications purporting to have been authored by myself have been making rounds on social media lately. These articles are undersigned with the name ‘Maiko’ and have mostly targetted government and government officials including the Head of State. Some of these articles have been published by mainstream media and other online pages, some of who unfortunately have gone on to use my photographs and suggested that they were written by musician ‘Maiko Zulu’ instead of the said ‘Maiko’.

I want to inform the public that all articles written by myself will always appear here on the Maiko Zulu official facebook page. Journalists who want to use my articles are free to use them and publish my pictures as long as they are authentically written by myself. I will not take any responsibility of an article written by someone else no matter how much I agree with the writer because I am able to author my own views on various issues including governance.

I want to think this trend is as a result of genuine mistaken identity but should it be a deliberate ploy by a pseudo writer to use my name to promote their cause, then I’m afraid I will have to take measures to arrest the situation as it borders on impersonation which is a serious crime under our laws. Journalists and bloggers are free to confirm with me using the contacts provided on this page. It may not be ‘fake news’ but I will not take credit for what I did not write.
