The search for the body of an identified man alleged to have fallen into the drainage and swept away by storm water at Lumumba bus station has not yielded results.
Last evening, LCC received a report that an identified man fell into the drainage at Lumumba Bus Station and was swept away by storm water following heavy rains.
The incident is reported to have happened around 18:00 hour last evening and the alleged victim is feared dead.
This morning, LCC Fire and Rescue team in conjunction with Zambia Police conducted a search for the body along the drainage but to no avail.
There is a possibility that the body could have been carried by storm water towards the Ngwerere stream thus posing a challenge in locating it.
LCC is appealing to members of the public, especially those living along the drainage, to be on the lookout for the body.
LCC rescue team in conjunction with Zambia Police will remain ready to quickly respond in an event that the body is spotted anywhere.
The rescue team has since demonised after searching for the whole day.
