DMMU has issued an alert to the communities in the highlighted areas which include Kaonga, Kapaka, Kalashile, Milenge and Kataba.
A statement released to Radio Christian Voice from DMMU is calling on the communities to be on the lookout for any possible floods and put up measures to reduce the impact thereof.
The Water Resources Management Authority WARMA has meanwhile instituted close monitoring of possible hydrological flooding for 2019/2020 rainfall season.
This is aimed at improving the implementation of its early warning system.
The close monitoring indicates that there is possible flooding expected to occur in Samfya district of Luapula province.
