24 Foreign Nationals Nabbed In Chingola

A combined team of security officers has apprehended 24 foreign national in Chingola in a crackdown aimed at curbing criminal activities witnessed in the town recently.

And in separate operations countrywide, the Department of Immigration has apprehended 30 foreigners and three Zambians for various offences.

According to a statement issued by Immigration Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka, the operation was carried out last Saturday night.

He says some of the areas covered included Chiwempala, Chikola Loop area, Lulamba and Kapisha.

Those detained by the Chingola Immigration Office include 17 Tanzanians, who were mostly engaging in trading without permits, six Congolese and two Malawians.

Mr Nshinka also said in other parts of the country the Department of Immigration between 31st January 2020 and 2nd February, 2020 apprehended a total thirty-three (33) persons for various offences.

These apprehended are 11 Burundians, eight Congolese and seven Tanzanians.

Others are three Zimbabweans, three Zambians and one South African.
