453 Teaching Positions Frozen in Western Province

Teaching Service Commission (TSC) Chairperson Stanley M’hango has disclosed that 453 positions in Western Province have been frozen, due to the inefficiencies of those tasked to process HR cases for teachers on time. He wondered why Senior Education Managers in the region failed to fill the vacant positions within the stipulated time frame of 12 months, stating that payroll positions automatically freeze after 12 months of being vacant.

The TSC Chairperson was saddened to learn that out of the frozen positions in the region, 155 were for Headteachers.

Mr M’hango further directed that all Senior Education Managers found wanting in the highlighted cases, during the Commission’s visit in the region, must be issued with warning letters, in order to curb the emerging inefficiencies, in processing HR cases.

He was speaking in Mongu, Western Province, on Friday 31st January, 2020, when he officially closed the TSC Fast Track Sitting, in the region.
