Chelston Clinic On The Spot Over Toilet Fees

Chelston Clinic On The Spot Over Toilet Fees

Fee paying toilets
Patients are being asked to pay a fee for using public toilets at Chelston Clinic in Lusaka.

This has raised concern among the patients.

A staff at the clinic has also confirmed that the toilets were once free but a fee was put after renovations so as to go towards maintenance.

But Ministry of Health Spokesperson Abel Kabalo says charging people is against the policy and government will follow up the matter.

Whike Government policy maybe there for all, it must also be viewed that it could be used fr guidance and not cat and stone. The ministry cannot be expecting patients to be using unclean, unhealthy, toilets with potential to spread disease when the clinic can charge for maintenance which the paret Ministry fails to offer!
