Land Wrangles In Kitwe Persist, Residents Call For President Lungu to Intervene

and wrangles have continued in Kitwe with over 100 citizens in Zamtan area fighting for a piece of land against a named businessman.

The residents on Monday stormed Radio Icengelo Studios in Kitwe to complain that they are being chased from the land they have lived on for many years.

‘We want President Edgar Lungu to come to our aid. The Council, the MP Elalio Musonda and our Councilor are not helping. People with money are coming to chase us from our land,’ said Emmanuel Banda on behalf of the crowd.

Area Councilor Pamela Katebe, in a separate interview, said:’ I have no comment. Talk to the Town Clerk and the Director of Planning.’

Radio Icengelo News has requested for a comment from council management.
