A 45-YEAR-OLD man in Chama district has been arrested for allegedly causing the death of his two-year-old daughter after he ran over her with his vehicle. And an agriculture camp chairperson in Isoka has been arrested for allegedly stealing 95 bags of D compound fertiliser.
In the first incident, Amon Mtonga of Mayadi Township was arrested on Saturday after he drove over his daughter. Muchinga Province Commissioner of Police Joel Njase said in an interview yesterday that Mtonga was negligently reversing his Toyota Rav4 registration ALM 1291 when he killed his daughter. And in the Isoka case, Chrispin Siwakwi, 29, was arrested on Saturday after 95 bags of fertiliser were found in his house.
Mr Njase said Siwakwi is in police custody and investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, Bornwell Musonda has died while five others are nursing injuries after being struck by lightning as they were playing football in Shiwang’andu
