Clergyman Confessed Engaging In Affairs, Impregnating Dependant

WHEN his wife was pregnant, it was time for a pastor of Faith of Salvation Ministry to go on rampage and sleep with church members and his maid. The pastor, Elijah Zikali, 27, told the Kanyama Local Court that he has done a number of wrong things and wants his wife to forgive him. He was testifying in a matter in which his wife, Adolphine Lupasha 23, sued him for divorce. “I have done a number of wrong things to my wife and I want her to forgive me, so we raise our children together. I love her and her family,” Zikali said.

He pleaded with the court to reconcile them saying that his children will suffer if they divorce. Earlier, Lupasha told the court that she discovered her husband’s misconduct after one of the girls, whom the couple lives with, revealed that she was pregnant by him. “Last year, my husband suggested that one of the church members starts living with us because she was vulnerable and to my surprise, he started sleeping with her until she fell pregnant,” she said. Lupasha told the court that Zikali impregnated the woman twice and forced her to abort and that the current pregnance is the third.

She also said her husband had gone on rampage proposing love to different women in the church. Lupasha said: “number of women have been calling on phone to insult me, claiming that they have been sleeping with my husband.” She said her husband has proposed to many of the women in the church praise team. Lupasha told the court that she has on several occasions engaged her parents to counsel Zikali but he has not changed his behaviour. In passing judgement, Magistrate Mabukwanu Matakala said it is sad that people like Zikali take advantage of the vulnerable women in church.
