A WIFE of a soldier in Ndola has been arrested for posting on a WhatsApp group a video in which she was fondling her private parts. But Mubanga Changa, 39, has said the video was accidently sent to the WhatsApp group as it was meant for her husband, who is on a peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic.

Police have charged Changa with production and circulation of obscene materials with intent to corrupt morals. Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga confirmed the arrest of Changa in an interview yesterday. She said on Tuesday this week that Changa, of Chifubu Township, allegedly produced and circulated pornographic materials. Mrs Katanga said police got information from reliable sources that a well-known woman of Chifubu Township had circulated a pornographic video of herself.

She said Changa produced the video with a view to sending it to her husband in the Central African Republic but that the clip was also posted on a women’s WhatsApp group. “Ms Changa produced the video and decided to send it to her husband, who is on peacekeeping in the Central African Republic, but she mistakenly posted it on a women’s WhatsApp group,” Mrs Katanga said.

She said when Changa’s phone was confiscated, police officers found that the video had been deleted. Mrs Katanga said, however, that police managed to retrieve the video from the women’s WhatsApp group through other means. She said investigations have been instituted into the matter and that Changa is in police custody. The video has gone viral on social media.
