A 37-YEAR-OLD woman of Misisi Township in Lusaka has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband after a marital dispute. Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in a statement yesterday that Idah Lungu allegedly killed Danny Musanya, 47, on Saturday. Ms Katongo said Idah allegedly hit her husband on the head and neck with a mirror.

“It was reported by a family member that in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday), between midnight and 00:30 hours, Mr Musanya had a dispute with his wife, after which a fight ensued,” she said. Ms Katongo said after realising the extent of injury inflicted on her husband, Lungu rushed him to the University Teaching Hospital, where he later died.

She said Mr Musanya’s body is in the mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial. Lungu is in police custody charged with murder. Mr Musanya’s death comes barely a week after a 16-yearold girl of Mtendere East was brutally murdered by her 32-year-old boyfriend, who later dumped her body in a drainage in Salama Park
