THE Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has urged the public to be wary of some senior members of staff issuing fake teacher recruitment letters to potential employees.
This is because the commission has not written any such letters. TSC chairperson Stanley Mhango said the commission is aware of a scam by some senior members of staff soliciting for money from innocent citizens after lying to them that they have been offered jobs. Mr Mhango said in an interview yesterday that TSC has reported the matter to the police.
“There has been many of these unscrupulous people and those that have been affected have mentioned a number of senior members of staff purporting to be offering them employment and asking for money from them,” he said. Mr Mhango said TSC is an equal opportunity employer and, as such, it does not charge any fees to employ people. He urged the public to report to the police anyone demanding payments to avoid being cited as accomplices in the matter
