Chewa Royal Establishment under Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi has dispelled assertions that President Edgar Lungu and the Eastern Chiefs are at loggerheads.
Maxson Nkhoma, a representative from the Chewa Royal establishment disclosed that the Royal Highnesses have since requested to meet the head of state.
Nkhoma has disclosed that the chiefs are enjoying a good relationship with the President.
He added that those that have been paid to paint a bad picture about the Eastern Chiefs will not succeed.
Nkhoma noted that with the many lies being taken to the President, chiefs have been affected.
He said development has also stalled in the province because of the said group of people who are being sponsored to bring enmity between Chiefs and the government.
Nkhoma revealed that Chiefs in Eastern Province are solely behind the Patriotic Front (PF) government and the head of state.
“Vincent Mwale has been telling the head of state lies to destabilise the chiefdom, in collaboration with the opposition,” he stated
He said there is no way the Eastern Chiefs can rise against their own son, for the President comes from the Eastern Province.
Nkhoma disclosed that chiefs have gone six months without subsistence allowances and most of the projects in the province like Chipata Vubwi, Chipata Chadiza roads have stalled.
He further said the government had promised to build a university in Katete but up to now nothing has been done.
