CB PF Welcomes President Lungu’s K30million Youth Empowerment Package

Partroic Front Party on the Copperbelt has welcomed the announcement by Republican President His Excellency Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, during today’s National address on Covid-19 measuers, that Government has set aside K30 million Youth Empowerment Package which will be supervised by the National Arts Council and the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Child Development.

PF Copperbelt Province Chairman MCC Nathan Chanda has commended the Presidnet and the Government for this great inititiatve.
“This is what a government which cares for the youths does. The President has challenged the Youths regardless of their status, political affiliations and location to take advantage of this package,” said MCC Chanda.

And Mr. Chanda has revealed plans to hold a youth Indaba in Luanshya District.
Mr. Chanda said that the indada is expected to draw 500 youths in Luanshya District.

Mr. Chanda was quick to mention that even if all has been set and done for this Indaba, consultations have continued with other stakeholders and the Ministry of Health on how best this meeting will be held in the “New Normal”.

Mr. Chanda believes that the Indaba will be held on the health guidelines that will be provided by the respective Government ministries.

Mr Chanda has disclosed further that tentatively, the Indaba should be slated for the second week of July 2020. The Copperbelt PF leader commended President Edgar Lungu for appointing young people in key positions in Government and and the President’s continued engagement with the Youths is encouraging.

“President Edgar Lungu has shown willingness to work with the young people as can be seen from key appointments, and his continued engagements with the youth,” Mr. Chanda said.

Mayor Chanda said the Luanshya Indaba will culminate into a provincial one for the Copperbelt province.

In this regard, Mr. Chanda has since directed the Copperbelt PF Provincial Youth Chairman Don Mungulube to start preparing for the Indaba.

He said the Provincial indaba is expected to host between 3, 000 to 5, 000 youths.

Mr. Chanda said youths are a key sector in any economy so this indaba will be a platform where youths will express themselves, state what they want and on his part, MCC Chanda will explain the Provincial and District plans for the Youths.

Mr. Chanda has emphasised that youth empowerment is not only for Lusaka Youths, but all the youths in the country, just like President Edgar Lungu has directed.
