Daughter to National Democratic Congress –NDC- President Chishimba Kambwili, Chanda, has been denied bail and remains incarcerated following her arrest yesterday.
Chanda was among four people, including her mother, who were yesterday arrested by police during her father’s appearance at the court for his bail application hearing.
However, police have released Mrs. Caroline Kambwili and two others after paying an admission fee of k54 for the charge of conduct likely to breach peace.
The other two are UPND Lusaka province vice chairlady for mobilization, Patricia Situmbeko, and NDC Copperbelt Province Youth Deputy Chairperson Frank Chiona.
And speaking after the release of Mrs. Kambwili at Kabwata Police Station, NDC Vice President Joseph Akafumba told journalists that police have refused to grant bail to Chanda and informed them that the matter will be taken to court.
Mr. Akafumba is disappointed that police on several occasions continue to refuse to grant bail on a matter that is bailable.
