The last time I tested for HIV was 23/1/2018 during my first Antenatal clinic and I was negative..
By then I was only 20yrs old and I was married .
My pregnancy period went on soo well intill I started having infections (UTIs,STDs) of which I knew it is Normal for a pregnant woman.
Well, God blessed me with a beautiful baby girl the same year.
I noticed I am losing a lot of weight and a gain I knew it’s normal since I was a first time mom..What made me worried is that the infections didn’t stop even after giving birth. In fact it now worsened.
I decided to seek medical attention,I was treated by different doctors, different hospital but all in vain.(I remember how painful and uncomfortable it was, those who have suffered such can attest).
Anyway, I visited again a different hospital for the same case nikapata laini ya wangonjwa ni reefu.
I decided to pass by the VCT to at least check my status.
I remember the date 5/6/2019.
Off cause I knew I was fine since I just tested the other day and I was negative.
And again I was very faithful to my husband.
Well,we did the test and it turned positive.
We did a gain and again but still showed 2 lines.
I can’t imagine how I felt.
Zile infections zangu zikapotea completely till to date
And remember I was still breastfeeding my 1year old baby.
My only question was “What will happen to my daughter”?…….
If you don’t know your status please go get tested
