A Catholic Priest in Chipata Diocese Christopher Sakala says he is looking forward to a time when President Edgar Lungu and his political rival Hakainde Hichilema will have a cup of tea together.
Since the 2016 General Elections, President Lungu and Hichilema have been at loggerheads, with the latter accusing the former of rigging the elections. This has created animosity and division in the country.
But speaking during a mass at St Anne’s Cathedral Parish today, Sunday 4th April 2021, Fr Sakala says if the two leaders can share a cup of tea, it can be a good sign of promoting peace.
Fr Sakala says leaders should be in the forefront of preaching and promoting peace in the country.
Fr Sakala said Zambians should sustain the peace that they have been enjoying.
