ACCOUNTANT IN COURT OVER K8.4M THEFT

A 44-year-old accountant employed by the Zambia Health Education and Communication, Raymond Tapiseni has been dragged to court by his employers on 74 counts of theft by Servant, uttering a false document and forgery amounting to K 8.4 Million.
In this matter Taspiseni of Chamba Valley is charged with 68 counts of forgery involving K 3.7 million, five counts of theft by servant involving K 4.6 million and uttering a false document involving K 17, 214.25, money belonging to the said company.
Allegations on five counts of theft by servant are that between 1st January 2020 and 31st December 2020, Taspiseni being a person employed by Zambia Health Education and Communication as a finance manager stole over K 4 million on different occasions.
Other allegations are that between June and July 2020, Taspiseni with intent to defraud made various false documents namely Zambia Revenue Tax Online Receipt numbers in the sum of K 3 Million purporting to show that they were genuinely issued by ZRA when in fact not.
And Tapiseni is alleged to have uttered a false document namely ZRA Tax online receipt in the sum of K 17, 214.51 to Zambia Education and Health Communication.
And when the matter came up for plea before Magistrate Sunford Ngobola, the accused person was not present.
The matter comes up on April 30, 2021 for plea.
