Politicians, like any other people seek God’s power and deliverance hence, the authorisation of the day of National Prayers and Fasting that falls on 18th October by President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Mandevu Aspiring Candidate Joseph Malama Tamba has said.
With barely weeks before Parliament dissolves, Mr Tamba paid a courtesy call on the Muslim Community to thank them for their continued prayers of peace and prosperity for the country.
Mr Tamba said the prayers offered by both the Moslem and Christian communities are not in vain, saying it is as a result of such prayers why Zambia has remained peaceful.
Speaking when he visited Mandevu and Chipata Mosiques in Lusaka, Mr Tamba paid tribute to the Muslim community for their dedication to prayer has seen God prevail over Zambia’s destine..
Mr Tamba said President Lungu values and acknowledges the works of all religions in the country.
He said the day of National Prayer and Fasting bring all religions together.
” You may be wondering why we are here. We did not come here to do politics but we came here to thank you for the prayers you have continued to offer the nation. It is because of your prayers why we are enjoying peace. We are blessed because our country is not at war,” he said ” As you maybe aware, very soon Parliament will dissolve, I came on behalf of the President of the Republic to thank you for being there for the PF regime. Continue with the good works you are doing for Allah.”
Mr Tamba asked for prayers from the Muslim community as he craves to lead the people of Mandevu Constituency as their Member of Parliament.
“I am the only Aspiring Candidate who has come to visit you(Chipata Mosique), so I am asking you to put me in prayers,” Mr Tamba.
The Mandevu Constituency Chairperson said political players must not shy away from visiting the Muslim community because they participate in voting.
