Pictured here is Newton Mulolo. This picture was taken today. (Permission given)
You may have heard the story of a boy who was taken by a crocodile in December 2020. He was on his way back from school and went across a makeshift bridge over Mindola/Kafue River in Kitwe.
It was first communicated that he fell in to the river, but after speaking to him today – the crocodile actually took him from the bridge, leaping out of the water.
His friend (what a hero) Michael, jumped in to try and help him. They were both taken under by the crocodile as it performed its infamous death roll over and over again.
Michael really is a real life hero. I can’t wait to meet him. I’m even tearing up thinking about it.
We don’t hear survival stories like this every day. But they both, somehow, survived.
Fredrick Mwanza contacted me on Saturday to try to help as Newton was simply not getting the treatment he needed.
He was brought to Ndola today and has been admitted to Mary Begg for further treatment.
Newton has a fractured femur that has not been attended to since the attack. This has since fused. He has an infection in the bone. The road to recovery is a long one, but it is the only road. Newton will walk again but he needs our help.
His mother, Albertina is a single, unemployed mother. She needs our help to help her son. She is so lovely.
Newton survived a crocodile attack but is now enduring another kind of suffering.
I know times are tough right now but if anyone on my friends list could please help with donations towards his medical expenses. Tomorrow, we should have a better idea of what the total costs will be which I will share on here.
Donations can be made directly to Mary Begg under the name Newton Mululo.
If you are not in Ndola or Zambia – donations can be sent to me and I will send back receipts of payments made to the clinic.
Newton also needs a few sets of clothes. He is 15 years old.
Please feel free to call me on 0972671469 if you would like any more information.
