Constitution Defenders Demand For Apology From Lusaka PF Chief

The Civil Society Constitution Agenda, (CiSCA) is demanding that the Patriotic Front, (PF) Lusaka Province Chairperson, Kennedy Kamba retracts his threats Constitution Lawyer, John Sangwa – State Counsel.
Kamba directed PF cadres to deal with Sangwa as a political opponent after he petitioned President Lungu’s candidature on behalf of the Legal Resources Foundation.
CiSCA Chairperson, Judith Mulenga tells Byta FM News that Kamba’s declaration that his party shall no longer entertain Sangwa’s nonsense,” is definitely a threat on his security.
Mulenga says the Bill of Rights affirms every person in Zambia’s entitlement to the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, whatever his race, place of origin, or political opinions.
She argues that the right to personal security as guaranteed in the Constitution can only be removed from as spelled out in Article 25 and not cadre riotous mobs.
She recalls that Kamba recently threatened to put Geoffrey Mwamba and Hakainde Hichilema in wheelchairs if they showed up at their rally when the former was UPND vice president.
But Kamba charges that he will not apologize because he has not threatened Sangwa.
Kamba says his statement has been been misinterpreted to portray a bad picture that he threatened Sangwa.
Meanwhile, some social media posts recently by former Advisor to President Edgar Lungu for politics, Kaiser Zulu suggesting ‘Sangwapo Aleponoka’ — local language for Sanwapo will be beaten have also been condemned.
They have been termed as subtly threatening the life of Sangwa.
