Copperstone university has not paid workers for three months and its run by one family. The vice chancellor is father, the director of finance is first daughter, the manager of administration is the second daughter , the third born daughter is the accounts manager and finally the regustrar is their uncle. They give themselves hefty salaries on time but workers have gone almost four months without pay. The working hours are abnormal but for what?there are no leave days and no overtime. The situation is a complete abuse of staff and government needs to do something.

It has come to my concern that many Zambians are being robbed of hard earned money through the drilling of boreholes by private drilling companies we have entertained in Zambia who are charging average of between k12,000 and k8,000 per borehole within city limits of Lusaka and up to over k20,000 as far as Mumbwa, once they dig up to 60 meters with no water you have to pay minimum of k4,000 or 50% of agreed amount or you pay extra k200 per meter till you find water or not.
In Lusaka west an average borehole now is at 90 meters plus and the terms and conditions of these drilling companies is only 60 meters knowing very well that they won’t find water unless by chance and they are the actual people who sight and assure you water maybe found between 15 to 60 meters average.
What is the government doing about this day light robbery?
Another issue is on the number of casings put either PVC or metal which they claim to also charge per extra meter without considering land formation.
Can we revise the terms and conditions on this agreements made between drilling company and client, imagine how much revenue is lost from farming industry per day that drives the economy to these drilling companies.
Imagine one has crop in the field and chickens that all need a lot of water day in day out and water runs dry, you end up dancing to their tune at whatever cost to get water supply back even as far as paying for more than one dry borehole if unlucky to get things back to normal , if in a day 100 dry boreholes are dug country wide x k4,000 that’s k400,000($63,000 estimate/ day) and per month estimate of $ 1.9 million lost to these drilling companies owned or run by foreign natives, maybe the government through zra benefit from this revenue collected by drilling companies.
Please listen to our concern and do something about it ASAP,this is addressed to the ministry in charge of water affairs
    Regards
    Mukukwa simwanza

according to well placed sources, zambia’s economy can only grow if US $100 billion IS PUMPED IN, Out of that total money ,less than a quarter of that money is being used annually as national budget to drive the economy however, this is a drawback to zambia’s development.
