The chairman of FIFA’s investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee Dr Cornel Borbely is set to launch investigations into Confederation of African Football (CAF) committee member Kalusha Bwalya’s alleged bribery case involving a US $80, 000 payment made by disgraced former FIFA vice-president Mohammed Bin Hammam over five years ago.
This follows a congratulatory letter addressed to new FIFA president Gianni Infantino by candidates aspiring for the Football Association of Zambia presidency Henschel Chitembeya and Andrew Kamanga that includes a catalogue of unethical practices by Bwalya who is defending his FAZ position in Kitwe on Saturday.
According to the correspondence seen by Zambia Reports, Chitembeya and Kamanga have appealed to FIFA to ensure FAZ upholds the ethical standards that it applied in the recent election where Mr Michael Platini was barred from contesting the presidency after failing the integrity test.
Chitembeya and Kamanga wondered whether Kalusha has ever been cleared by FIFA’s ethics committee to contest an election. FIFA sources have since disclosed that Kalusha’s case is now actively before Dr. Cornel Borbély, the chairman of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee.
However, FIFA say it would be premature to comment on Chitembeya and Kamanga’s letter saying that will be going against the spirit of the investigations.
A statement seen by Zambia Reports from new Ethics Committee spokesperson Roman Geiser states that article 36 of the FIFA code of Ethics prohibits premature discussion of matters being considered for investigation.
“We can unfortunately not comment on possibly ongoing investigations (art. 36 of the FIFA Code of Ethics). If formal proceedings are opened, we will inform you,” Geiser, who takes over the spokesperson role from Andreas Bantel, says.
Sources at FIFA have warned that Kalusha could now face the Investigatory Board’s wrath and will subsequently lose any position he holds in football because there is overwhelming evidence that he took a bribe from Bin Hammam.
Kalusha is defending his position as FAZ president, but may not finish his term like the case was with fallen FIFA president Sepp Blatter when he won an election only to resign few days later amid corruption allegations that have now earned him a six year suspension from all football activities.

They see him as a stumbling block to their football administrative career. Hence they want to do anything possible to block him.
More of a stumbling block to the development of Zambian soccer as a whole! Succession is a must for infusion of new ideas. Kalusha never categorically denied receiving a bribe but went about weaving a story that did not go well even in his own head!
No, you got wrong. There should no corruption in any public office if you need development. See how the developed Europe handle such matters, no sacred cow at all. Sad for him if indeed he pocketed that money and if it was gotten with ill intention.
Problem is even these pull him down chaps (Kamanga and group) are hoping to go in their to chew-that is Zambia, stealing/corruption is part and parcel of almost everyone in institutions, starting from cleaners to managers and that is why we keep going around circles-no progress at all! Lets put people who already have money in these critical positions such as Presidence. In USA you can not become a president or even a senator if you are broke. Vote HH
Is HH standing for the FAZ presidency? Your Comments are out of order silly henchman !
Mwembwa mulefwaya fye ukucinga. Bakamanga teti mutinye kalusha viva kalu
Ethically, Kalusha should not stand as FAZ President. He is hiding a cow in his pocket.
Performance-wise, Kalusha should not be voted again because under his admin, Zambia has moved from 1st/2nd in Africa to only him knows where we are going. On FIFA rankings, Zambian football is worthless. Football scouts cannot even come here and if they do, players can only go to 2nd or 3rd tear leagues in DRC or Egypt.
On being a Patriotic Zambian earning his salary from Zambia, he has lost it completely. How do you have a President of FAZ resident in South Africa for heaven’s sake? What Pomp?
On achievements, Kalusha gets 1/10 only for the 2012 AFCON
Kalusha is like HH who went to live in the luxuries of South Africa after he got a mountain of commissions from Privatisation under-valuations and only resurfaced in Zambia after Mazoka died. Like HH who got commissions from both government and also investors for under-valuation, Kalusha gets much of the monies realised from sponsorships. His costs at football house are too high because he stays in a hotel when in Zambia.
Kalusha is the only one reason Charly will not register for Chipolopo because he called his father lame.
Kalusha shouted at the coach,
“why let ifilema play in the game when we have normal ones on the bench?”
Because of then Charly senior slight limp then.
Charly was born in belgium, raised in belgium, played for the belgium age-group national team(s), speaks whatever language they speak there, elyo mukamulete kuno ale trena pa barclays??!Lets just be proud that the boy is of Zambian decent….Algeria did not cry for zidane, DRC is not crying for Lukaku…Let the boy flourish in the environment he’s grown in, play with people with whom he can communicate effectively and at the end of the day we’ll all be happy because of the Musonda name on his back!
*descent*
Right on. He comes to Zambia and has to deal with envy and pettiness. He won’t be the first European born kid to shun the country of origin. If I were him I wouldn’t even give it a thought.
The boy is not even Zambian but born of parents of zambian origin.
Pf cadres managing football kikikikiki embarrassing
ZAMBIAN football lost direction when FTJ undermined the Teddy Mulonga administration.
Lost cause.
what is important is kalusha to step down and leave faz so that anyone one can stand as faz president, listen mwebantu koswe nga akokola munganda alalya na kasuba, bakalusha nababomba yes tatulekana , but ifyaba ubutungushi lekeni tucinje, bakalusha tebo lesa apela amano beka awe . looking at the zambian football is always going down, and each and every one knows that this is a footballing nation, looking at the performance of those team’s under 17, under 23 who went for these tournament last year chamusebanya sana team selection yabafye katwishi awe kalusha bwalya please step down twapapata.
Its all about premature environment. Govt must sanitize the happenings in the country. People are quiet when they hear that Pupu wants to stand as choir master at a well known church then all mediocrities start being unearthed such as Pupu this, Pupu that, Pupu a thief, Pupu corrupt and so on. Lets not wait for elections or elevation to higher offices for the bad side of our lives to be exposed. Let us monitor daily repeatedly and continually so should need aeise a full term is not completed but they are kicked out mid way. That kind of monitoring will bring pure un diluted sanity to the public offices.
Kālu’s thought he will be smart through and through. Hammer him even harder. There is no nonsense at FIFA now. He’s a small boy they will put him where he belongs. Elo once BA kalu is given a ban from football activities even for a two years ninshi even the muzungu woman will call for a divorce
wanya chikala ulekakwa. you Think u are so special? wait and see chitole chobe ibolo lilepiba. If platini and blatter can be prosecuted what of you?
They should just admit that Kalu is a threat to them.
Ba Kamanga where did you play your football did you play with Simataa in the same team okay I see.
In my own opinion, Kalusha has had his time and if he could let go of the position, he will live to be remembered especially when the new comers fail to run the FAZ according to the expectations of the masses.
Resisting change would be like fearing exposure of misdeeds when new bearers are voted into office.
Kamanga,Simata and Henschel please push in a court injunction to delay the AGM so that fifa finishes the investigations first.
By hook or crook Kalusha must be removed!!
Never it chokes you with hate when you see the man progressing. Simataa simataa was once at FAZ what did he achieve? People like kamanga only want to be president because he thinks he’s achieved everything only FAZ presidency! Let footballers rule football.
People need to learn one basic life lesson: it’s appointed for everyone who’s born to die and that everything that goes up must one day come down. Wise people know this fact of life very well and make sure they quit when they’re at the top while everyone is cheering – Mandela and Mayweather are but just two cases in point. Great Kalu missed a great opportunity to quit when Zambia won the Africa cup. What a rarely great legacy he would have sealed for himself – Great footballer and Great Administrator! Now he must deal with the agony of having to leave unceremoniously. And the longer he pushes to hang on the worse things will possibly become for him!
Under whose FAZ did Zambia win Afcon? You may hate Kalu but the man has achieved both as a player and adminstrator
Let Fifa do their investigations. West Africa has advanced football wise because they have their own on top while you want to destroy your only voice in football recognised globally. What a shame. Are you happy that AFCON finals area almost always in West Africa? Isukeni please.
Its your shame that you think its only Kalu who can rule the beautiful game in Zambia. Its your funeral my dear that you cant see beyond Kalu even if he was in his cascade.
What more does he want to achieve that he did not do during the last two terms. Let him step aside to allow for unhindered investigations to take place. If found wanting then he should face the consequences but if found innocent then he should be given another chance in future.
Nobody is investigating Kalu at FAZ so why step down? There is no FAZ law that limits terms so let rhe man go for it as long as he likes. If he is unpopular as you think and if he has not performed they will kickhim out. period. This habit of giving chance in a democratic dispensation should not be entertained. lts like some tribe that wants to be given chance to rule. Why??. Just present yourself and face the voters. Let his challengers face him squarely and not hope for external hands. Mwachepa sana!!
This move will not take useless Kamanga anywhere . Remember that Kalu got the money when corrupt RB withdrew state sponsorship .Corrupt RB wanted by all means to push clueless Kamanga into FAZ chief position even to the extent of sending them to Zurich to registered their complaints against Kalu using state resources . We were not going to meet the fixtures against Mozambique for 2012 afcon qualifiers when corrupt RB abruptly withdrew funding .Thanks to PF they took over the government and sponsored the team so well that we eventually won Afcon 2012
@ Luapula fish now that RB is the PF god father is he still corrupt or has PF been diluted by RB?
The correct place for legends in history books. Did you see Pele running the Brazilian FA. He tried politics and quit. How about Ronaldo or others? Their natural progressing was to manage a team not administer the FA.
Is Michael Jordan the head administrator of the NBA? No
How about Mohamed Ali and the WBC and WBC? No
Wayne Gretzky and the NHL? No
Satwant Singh and the ZMSA? Nope!
Getting a fellow that is looking to be an emperor for life even when he cannot manage the task is not right.
Ati sir Alex Ferguson should head the premier league
I am sure “Chipotachipya” aumfwa!
All zedians are corrupt. No one is interested in leading FAZ,they are all interested in money.
Kalusha step down now aaaaaaaa
