MMD ‘Claims’ Ignorance About ‘Robo Calls’ And SMS Campaign Messages

The ruling MMD has expressed ignorance about its campaign messages being sent to several people urging them to vote for president Rupiah Banda on 20th September, 2011.
Special assistance to party national secretary, Tobias Kafumukache says the MMD is carrying out investigations on who could be behind the messages.
Mr. Kafumukache has alleged that the messages being sent are just hoaxes noting that the party has nothing to do with them.
In an interview with qfm radio, Mr. Kafumukache has appealed to Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) to investigate further to help find the source of the messages.
Several people on the Copperbelt and Lusaka Provinces have received campaign messages on their mobile phones and have been left wondering how their numbers have been accessed.
Recently, ZICTA revealed that none of the three mobile service providers had given access to their respective subscribers’ number pools and subscriber call records to any of the political parties in Zambia.
The Authority further stated that the unsolicited voice and text messages that had been transmitted to some mobile phones in the country were coming from an international circuit contrary to perceptions that they were coming from the local service providers.
Tumfweko first Exposed and published MMD’s scheme of making ‘robo calls’ and sending of SOS Messages.

All insults on this website are coming from either MMD or UPND cadres. Is there a school of insults in MMD and UPND? Respect to each other is what is needed. Go to school and learn manners.

People, Please just ignore those RBish sms and vote for change. I recieved one yesterday at 07:00hrs. Airtel and ZICTA know the truth but they will not review unless we Vote for Change. Right now there are announcements about water disonnections if you do not pay water bills by 19th Sept 2011. (this in the area were i live only) Where do you find money at the middle of the month to pay bills. TV levy must be scrapped next month. Zesco must be reorganised as it is one of the financiers of the MMD. Times of lies and Daily lies and ZNBC are arms of MMD

This very annoying. How did my number got caught up like that. I think airtel should have better explanations to make for the same. How did it happened? It has never happened before.
