Zambia National Soccer Team coach, Dario Bonetti has said striker Emmanuel Mayuka has the potential to become one of Africa’s greatest strikers like Samuel Eto.
“He is an important player and he can become the new Samuel Eto’o for Africa,” the Italian coach said.
The 21-year-old striker of Swiss side BSC Young Boys has scored two goals for Zambia this year after coming off from the bench in Chipolopolo’s 2012 Africa Cup Group C qualifiers against Mozambique in a 2-0 away win and again on the road this time against Comoros where Bonetti’s team won 2-1.
Both goals by the ex-Kabwe Warriors striker came in the last minutes of Chipolopolo’s Group C matches.
“Mayuka is one of those kind of players whom I think he has a good future,” Bonetti told MTNFootball.com.
“He has a very special confidence in front of the goal because he is has a good instinct for the net and good technique.”
Bonetti said it was all up to Mayuka now to take his recent form to another level.
Mayuka has netted four goals in 8 competitive matches for Young Boys this season after scoring 16 in all competitions in his first term for the Swiss club in the 2010/2011 campaign after joining from Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv.
