The Chipolopolo boys had a first taste of mind games on arrival in Equatorial Guinea for the Africa Cup after they checked out of the hotel booked for them by the host nation on grounds that it did not meet their expectations.
Zambia who were originally booked at Camen Hotel for the duration of the Group A games in Bata stormed out on day two and are now lodged at Hotel Anchelotti within Bata.
According to sources in Bata Zambia moved out on Thursday evening after having their dinner.
“On Wednesday when the team arrived there was no water,” the source said.
Meanwhile the team had light training on Thursday morning at Machinda Stadium and had a second session at Estadio de Bata at 20:30 Bata time.
Zambia open their account on Saturday against tournament favourites Senegal.

I hope the host country iz not just playing mind gamez, but then we shouldn’t be so much of cry-babiez. Didn’t we know about the Bata Hotel well in advance to have sent emiseriez to check? The next thing we will complain about is the lack of correct football boots for the wheather in Equatorial Guinea. And can someone stop the weired illusion of “…playing to honour the 1993 Gabon plane crash victimz”. What will “do to them” if we loze?

Then what job does the advance party play, i dont understand what they go to do prior to the team arriving. All proper logistics should have been in place before the team jets in. I blame all these frustrattions on the organisation of our football in Zed, we are simply not serious. You are telling me they did not figure out that this was a shitty hotel without water? Shame on the management of Zambian Football, we’ll never progress….

BaBuju we are talking about a hotel without water – deliberatly turned off. When did you lodge in Savoy or Edinburgh and found there was no water? … You’ve never even stepped a foot in a hotel! Then shut up. Next comment please.
Shameless
January 20, 2012 at 10:37 am
That’s typical of our national team. Bad beginning, sour ending.
From bad hotel they will go to lack of incentives, then to playing at night. All this just to prepare the Zambian minds to accept their shoddy performance.
i dont care
January 20, 2012 at 10:41 am
it shows the unseriousness of the team manager.all those issues were supposed to be looked into before the team cheaked in.

Who is paying for the hotel were they are in now? In the same way they want high standards using tax payers money they should also give back high standards by winning the competition.

Didnt Zambia send an advance party to book for Hotel accomodation the time the draws were made? kalusha has been there so even before the National Team touched down. So what was he doing all along, he had dinner with the team the day they arrived? We dont want excusses. Just lose if you losing. Dont blame Hotel accomodation. Most Players come from WUsakile, obsure slams and other shanties so dont expect state house confort. Bring the CUP.

Zambians! Stop expecting too much from the chipolopolo boys. Soccer is a sport there are losers & winners so despite your boyz bein under dogz(which the whole world knows) let them enjoy themselves freely bcoz all they are good at is shagging & booze. Dont subject them to impossibilities they are LOOSERS and lack professional skillz.

They are within there rights to demand for proper accomodation. how can a country win the bid to host a continental championship without water in its hotels? Ala as if we are not paying! Ma rubbish.
That money infact is tax payers, the more reason we should get value for it. Fi Chimbwi
Go Zambia Go. Demand for high standards both in the hotel and more importantly, ON THE PITCH.
