A SOUTH African traditional healer and fortune teller or Sangoma claims the Chipolopolo boys will win this year’s Africa Cup-especially that their two goals against Senegal coincide with the date this year’s Africa Cup finals started and will end.
Sangoma Mchuzu tells a South African radio station Ukhodzi fm that God told him earlier this month that Zambia would bag this year’s Africa Cup.
“God told me in my sleep that this year was for Zambia…there is no doubt about it,” ‘Dr’ Mchudzu said.
He added that after Zambia beat Senegal on Saturday night, he was sure that Zambia would emerge victorious.
“Remember that Zambia scored their first goal in the 12th minute which is the exact date Africa cup will end. They scored their second goal in the 21st minute which is the date the Africa Cup started.
“This confirms God’s message to me that Zambia will win. Let’s all South Africans rally behind our Zambian neighbours so that they truly win,” the Sangoma said.
The claim that Zambia would win this year’s Africa Cup apparently originated from another South African- Marks Maponyane who is a Soccer Analyst at the state owned South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
Reviewing the Zambia Versus Senegal match which was beamed live on SABC 1, Maponyane told other soccer analysts that he felt Zambia would bag the Africa Cup because of the coincidence of its goals with the Africa Cup dates.
“We have seen Zambia scoring its goals on dates that have something to do with the day the Africa Cup started and ended. Do we see Zambia winning the AFCON finals because of this? I would love to think so!” Maponyane said.
Maponyane was a professional footballer for 17 years. In 1984 he was nominated as South African Sports Hero of the Year. In 1983, 1987 and 1994 Maponyane was awarded the SA Footballer of the year Award – the only South African to receive this award more than once. He was the Captain of Kaizer Chiefs between 1985 and 1988 and played for Bafana Bafana from 1992 to 1995.
Zambia on Saturday night earned an excellent opening day 2-1 win over fancied Senegal in Group A of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Emmanuel Mayuka opened the scoreline for Zambia after 12 minutes, with Rainford Kalaba doubling their lead seven minutes later.
Senegal substitute Dame Ndoye pulled one back for Senegal with a beautifully taken strike.
But the Teranga Lions proved sluggish throughout and wasted a handful of chances to level the tie.

Mwabantu Zambia is a great nation in many dimensions. Zambia has been a great footballing Nationa and will remain that way in Africa. Zambia could ve taken Africa cup 1994 had it not been for the folly of Diramba. This time its not about predictions but Zambia deserves a win.

Since when did Sangomas become THEE OCTOPUS we know from that world cup. A sangoma is a sangoma and the octopus is the octopus. Two different things altogether. Zambia can win the cup only if they play as a unit and strikers are not too selfish (****** )so as not to pass the ball to those in better positions to score. Oh ! pliz do not let Kalusha in the camp coz all he takes there is confusion and ubulimi bwa kale.

This is nonsense!!!!! Why did the Sangoma predict before the Senegal-Zambia game? The fellow just played on the numbers. There is no magic to it. The numbers are significant yes but we can’t just rely on them and then pretend we are on cloud nine. Sangoma, kabiye uko. Sitikufuna pa Zambia. These are the same guys who cheated RB and we have a mess in Zambia now. Good News, Zamtel twapoka!

It’s funny how ALL you so-called Christians are denouncing this sangoma when barely 100 yrs ago your fore fathers were ANIMISTS!!
You read the Bible upside-down and claim to understand it while it was in fact written by middle eastern tribes between 1000 BC-200 AD in accordance to their customs, time and geography!!
FYI,the Bible & Christianity borrowed majority of its doctrine and philosophy from PAGANISM!!
Rituals like Christmas,Easter etc were “copy & paste” from Norse and Roman mythology
“garden of Eden” parable was inspired by Babylonian “hanging gardens”…
“40 days & 40 nights in the desert…” are mentioned because “40″ was a very important number to Babylonians, just like 360 and 60: reason why there is 60 mins in 1 he,60 sec in a min etc
“Noah’s ark” parable was taken from an oral story recounting a tsunami that hit middle east…ie “act of devil” was the only plausible explanation in time when science couldn’t explain natural phenomena!!!
The list is endless…the irony is the Europeans who indoctrinated your fore fathers with Christianity have largely become secular after 2000 yrs of Christianity while Africans exposed to the (man-made) religion follow it blindly like lemmings…
Guess the brainwashing worked perfectly well!!

Mwa bombeni mwebena Zambia am proud of you. Only God need to be consulted and and not the so called “Sangoma” Sangoma should stay away from the endeavour of our lovely, peaceful country. We are on the rise Zambia and that is by the power of the Almighty. By the arm of the Lord Zambia will one day see prosperity. The devil would want look like an angel of light. Twakana. To the great boys of Zambia I would like to say we are with you and just work hard and the Lord will reward you for your labour. It is folly to say you cannot pray to God if you are playing soccer.
