Visiting World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati has observed that for Zambia to develop its economy, policy implementation should be a core factor.
Ms. Indrawati says the World Bank will always remain supportive to the Zambian government’s efforts in policy implementation.
She has also called on the need to rejuvenate the economy in the wake of the new PF government that was ushered into office last September.
Meanwhile, the Zambian government’s Private Sector Development Programme with technical support from the World Bank group has today inaugurated Lusaka’s first one-stop shop for business registration.
The office simplifies and shortens the registration process by enabling companies to proceed with all licensing steps at a single location.
Commerce minister Bob Sichinga says that the one stop shop is in line with the government’s policy in ensuring that a conducive business environment is created.
And the World Bank managing director has praised Zambia’s efforts in ensuring that a conducive environment for business is created.
Ms. ndrawati says the World Bank is pleased to be Zambia’s partner in working towards a sustainable model of growth which relies not only on the exploitation of natural resources, but also on the development of the country%u2019s private sector.

It is ablessing to be critised than to look down on all pipo offering the product esp those that help a counties economy. I trust world advise will even cause less reshuffles and random short term contract termination for good policy implemenatations which which prove to expensive. I.e office orientations, workshops etc… Nalandako fye.

our economy can do fine but corruption is killing us.unneccessary undertakings such as unwarranted elections,abuses of resources and so on and so forth.
