And Mwamba has accused his drivers operating the Kasama route of stealing a lot from him.
Disputing reports that his drivers operating the Germins Motorways buses had decided to down tools because of non-payment of salaries, Mwamba said he would invest the money from the auction into truck business.
“It is not that they are protesting. I am a very intelligent businessman, that business involves cash. Are you telling me that as I am sitting here his office at the Ministry of Defence, do you think they drivers would declare all the cash that they have realised? It is practically impossible. So the best thing is that I have decided that I am selling all the buses. I have just diversified now, I have gone into trucks because trucks you only deal with tenders and contracts and the money comes into your pocket, that’s all,” he said.
Mwamba said he saw no point of continuing with the bus business when he was not making any profit.
“I am in the government office, I won’t monitor them and my wife has not been too well in the last few weeks and she was actually the key to the business. We are not only looking at diversifying into the transport sector, we are going beyond that. Every business that may involve cash, where we cannot monitor, we will definitely switch on to other businesses. You know in business you have to be on top of things…the driver or the business should not control you. You should control the business and that’s typical of GBM,” he said.
Mwamba said all the buses that he would be auctioning were debt free.
Mwamba however, said Germins Motorways would continue operating the Kasama route and areas beyond.
“I will not stop that route. I know the drivers steal left, right and centre but at the end of the day, what I want is to provide services to my people who are in my constituency, that’s Kasama and beyond, like Mpulungu,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mwamba said his wife, Chama who was recently admitted at Milpark Hospital in South Africa was back on her Feet.

Saddened to realize that most of us blggers are sinking to some serious depressing levels as far as objective reasoning is concerned. One would necessarily wonder how we are mysteriously able to connect unrelated issues. GBM picking on a different line of business and tribalism are they seriously related? We seem to be going besides the point And being irrelevant to what is being put across here. maybe those with business know-how should be the only ones to pass their analyses here to help edify the Zambia citizenry on bussiness matters; thereby treating us business-lay people to a nice listening. Thanks

u cant brig a good man down,if they are stealing from him, they should be lucky he is not sueing them o getting them arrested.theft is a crime and if it happens in a business, that is bound to bring the business crambling down,it is a smart move 4 gbm to diversify and move into the trucking business,it is more profitable, stable and has fewer risks,it is even a smarter move for him to maintain the kasama route,it has nothing to do with tribalism, he is the mp for kasama central and so he must make life for his people in his constituency easier and better, and transport networking is one of his major challenges if kasama is to be developed.bravo gbm. just coz the easterners rejected their own in our previous historic election doesnt mean they were tribal, they were jst tired of being lied to and robbed.these are two vices that must be discouraged and eliminated in our soocieties at large but most all in our businesses.
