EXPLOITATION On The Spotlight(NOBLE OR IGNOBLE?)

Mansa Nursing School

NON-REFUNDABLE FEES FOR INTERVIEWS (NOBLE or IGNOBLE)
As I write this interviews are going on at the Mansa Nursing School. These interviews commenced on Monday and are going through till Thursday.
There are more than 800 people so far who have attended the interviews in two days and we have two more days to go.
The problem is the school is only going to pick not more than 40 from the interviewee, and all these people attending the interviews are paying K200,000 (we are talking of About K160,000,000 so far)
The question is where is all this money going? And what are they going to do with the unselected 760 plus participants??
The Fact that these institutions are advertising in the media it shows that they are only focusing on the generation of income. They are taking advantage of the desperate to learn Zambians. Advertising in public media means calling on masses when they are only picking less than 40 people.

Funny… who doesn’t charge for application?
Ask UNZA, CBU, Mulungushi and even private colleges. Why pick on Mansa alone?

Dull analysis, where do you expect the money to come from to feed those people during their trainings. Govt coffers are empty and it’s all about initiative to raise money and educate what you can. Govt money can be used for other programs, the worst is, it never comes but it goes.

Indeed this is worth looking at and i am sure it has been in mansa nursing school’s budget for this year to raise 160million from applications and yet they will only allow 40 people damn but what can you say?

Whatever the case, calling such a big number of interviewees and pick only 2% is an absolute fallacy! To be fair enough, they would perhaps clearly include limiting factor one of which would be that of stating that only those scored such such grade twelve results should apply. Otherwise, this is broad daylight stealing or to put it in a very appropriate way, broad daylight robbery!

Which college does not charge. i happened to be at that school and part of the money goes to the Ministry of labour for conducting apptitude tests. the pannelists are from a cross section of society. so where do you think all the monies to run these interviews come from? Kabwe , Solwezi St francis schools of nursing were conducting interviews and the numbers were big and failure rate very high. Go UNZA, Hone, CBU name it uyou will never have it free. If they invited a few, you would say they are picking their relatives like what happened to the ZAF interviews. a few weeks ago Chipata advertised K200,000 Macha K250,000, Kitwe last was K270,000, Nkana K300,000 so which one is more expensive. Lets ask for construction of more training institutions than complain of the K200,000 pin.

Grow up, a school can charge for applications. Every learning institution does it, even in the Western World where most learning is free. So grow a pair and move on, just be exemplery and you’ll have the opportunity to see where the your money is going.

IE, get that spot you are interviewing for… CHILD

The root cause of this problem are the good grades pupils are getting at grade 12 due to reckages which as brought a lot of unnecessary competition in these schools and these people genuinely fail the aptitude test. So it is just wise to widen the net so that u fish the best. It doesn’t just make sense with 13 points ukuya mukusuka ifilonda or mukufunda ba grade 1.

People try to find out the pass mark when they write the aptitude test and the pass rate and compare with the number of invited candidates. I blame ama likege. If ma grade 12 results were genuine these colleges would have been scouting to get the standard number of interviewees. Some of these interviewees can not even read but they have G 12 certificates shame ma likages.

This is daylight robbery the whole practice has been commercialised, instead of catering for administrative costs for which it was intended ,most organisations are using it to rip-off the unsuspecting public. Can u believe that even to get a contract deal or bidding for a purchase of a valuable asset, organisations are asking for a non-refundable fee from a bidder/buyer.Can u imaging how much they rip before even the sale takes place.ZSIC was asking for hundred million non-refundable fee for the sale of Mpendwa house in Ndola.!!! This is utter non-sense .WHERE IS THE ACC.TWACULA MWE BANTU!!!

This cancer will one day but very SOON spread to those going for JOB INTERVIEWS. People will be asked to pay before attending a Job interview. I see it coming since it has become acceptable that Training Insitutions should charge applicants not only for the application forms but also for sitting for the aptitude tests or attending an interview. As such all the training insitutions have now seen this as a big fund raising venture. In the mean time the Ministry of Education has been very silent on this matter. If its a policy decision, let them say so and not wait until a crisis develops

This has become a trend in Zambia. everybody is getting out of the poor Zambians whatever they can. they are just thieves behind desks. the police know that everyday poeple are being robbed especially in Lusaka were interviews are called in a hotel by bogus companies and you are asked to pay not less than K50,000 for application forms which are never available. promises of getting back to you are made and that is the end. you will never hear from them again and the phone numbers go outside coverage areas after they make enough money.

its unfortunate that schools are just focusing on making money. How can you call more than 800 interviwee and only select 40? that is selfness and where is this money going? probably in pockets. Where is nursing council and ministry of health? Pliz act its not only at mansa but everywhere. Now chikankata is advertising open interviews, think of that
