39-Yr-Old Kitwe Dad Convicted For DEFILING Two Of His Own Daughters
A KITWE magistrate’s court has convicted a 39-year-old man for defiling his two daughters on several occasions and threatening them with death if they ever revealed their ordeal.
After the verdict was passed, the convict’s mother wept uncontrollably in the court premises.
Magistrate Densen Muchaba convicted James Musonda of Ndeke Township on two counts of incest.
Musonda had sex with his two daughters, aged 11 and 13, on several occasions between October 2010 and February 15 last year.
He used to have sex with them each time he returned home drunk and he would threaten to kill them if they told anyone.
The girls had testified that their father used to have sex with them against their will either during day time or at night and that he used to use an electric cable to beat the older girl whenever she turned down his advances.
He would accost them each time their mother was not home and that after she died they became traumatised.
In defence, Musonda said the problems he was facing were brought about by his late wife’s relatives who wanted to grab his property. In delivering judgment, Mr Muchaba said he was convicting Musonda because the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.
He said Musonda had been having sex with his biological daughters. He noted that the girls’ evidence was credible and was supported by other witnesses.
“The girls’ evidence was overwhelming and even when their father asked them questions, the evidence was unshaken and the accused failed to discredit it. The medical report also shows that the girls were defiled over and over, and their private parts had enlarged and had developed sores,” he said.
The magistrate said his court had no jurisdiction to pass sentence and, therefore, referred the matter to the high court for sentencing.He revoked Musonda’s bail so that he could be remanded in custody until the matter comes up in the high court.
Musonda’s mother wailed uncontrollably after judgment was delivered.

Chipumbu chamwaume kwena! I hope he goes in for life. I feel so sorry for the kids who he abused instead of protecting them from such vices, but instead he failed to be a real father and responsible man, shame on men who turn on young innocent children whom they are supposed to show care and love. How I wish we could have such men castrated!
