A political Analyst says the people of Western Province need to understand the Implications of the content of the Barotseland Agreement.
Dr. Alex Ng’oma has told QFM News that the boundaries of the Barotseland go beyond some of Zambia%u2019s borders and has wondered how possible it will be for the people of western province to claim the land in such countries.
Dr Ng’oma who is also a political scientist at the University of Zambia notes that the issue of the Barotseland Agreement is a very sensitive matter which will need to be handled carefully by the parties involved as failure to do so may result in anarchy.
Dr. Ng’oma adds that while the people of western province have a good cause with regards the issue of the Barotseland, there is nowhere in the Agreement where secession is mentioned.
He has also urged government to ensure that there is dialogue on the matter to rectify the mistakes that could have been made at the time the Barotseland Agreement was being signed.
Dr Ng’oma has since advised the government to listen to the people of western province on the matter.

Implications are costly and these old men will not be there to harvest their efforts. Human resource will be wasted as there are no industries to practice their respective professions. Old men become young in thinking as they grow old.

Its only you Copper Bullets who think Sata does not listen just because he does not comment on rubbish. He has a channel of communication as President.
It won’t work you pipo trying to lebel the President like he does not listen. We all know and see that he listens. He has made some decisions and after hearing people’s cry, he has rescinded his actions without feeling any shame or reservations. He knows the rights of the pipo should prevail. But rememeber, not rubbish.
Other pipo are talking, you say Sata Sata Sata!!!!! Why?

@ KEN i agree with you, the likes of Copper Bullet forget that on Jan 14 pipo were killed because govt refused to listen and the BNC meeting took place because SATA is a listening President hence promoting freedom of expression and dialogue. BNC had full security and govt was represented at that meeting by the Minister and PS, is that a sign of a man who does not listen? Please lets not think with tribe again………… Its mediocre

if lozis claim western province, what do they want zambia to do? continue giving them power supply; medicines in hospitals, place in natinal assembly, moving with chitupa passorts, continue giving them BC in universities and colleges or what. i think they shud critically think about the plight of many lozis scattered across zed before making the demands they want now.

This old man has outlived his time and is so myopic in so far as repercussions are concerned with the people of Zambia. What is so bad about the peace we have so far enjoyed?People do not be misled on tribal lines, learn to make independent decisions.

trust me, this time around, sata has listened. the BA is very strong matter.
for once, i know that, inspite of his extreme decisions, sata is not the type of person who would let blood drip down his shoulders.
sata will never allow allow people to die at his hands, never.
this is one good nature in sata. he can be triblistic and so on, but life, he can not allow to take away.

Then logic of Dr. Ng’oma is faulty. The BA was made between barotseland and nothern rhodesia in 1964 to form a unitary Zambia. That means the land in question was within zambia on 24 Oct. 1964. Has 7ambia given away land since then for the learned politician to saythe BA covers land out side Zambia?
Secondly the signitories signed in good faith believing all would honour their part. This does not mean either party should hold the other ransom otherwise conditions for divorce will begin to appear on marriage certificates.

I gave an assignment to Law Association of 7ambia ”In 1,500 words, summarise the intent of the BA and with the aid of a labelled diagram outline its geopolitical farimplications on regional governance”
The assignment was due last week and none of the members has handed in yet this assigment is a pre requisite to advance to the next module on ”what legal and deterrent action can govt take on public nuisances like encroaching on private and state land using the Lilayi Development Holdings land encroachment and the building of houses just 10 meters from the rail line between Chawama and Lilayi as case studies.”

A headline from a virtual newspaper in 2038: ”Barotseland President pleads for diplomatic relations with 7ambia” – after 16 years of its seccession from 7ambia and rejection by the UN and AU to recognise Barotseland as a soverein state, Barotseland President, Mukatiimui AKAKULUBELWA Sisekanu, aged 93 pleaded in his address to his Cabinet for the PF govt to establish diplomatic relations with his ‘country’, citing political isolation and the fleeing of many of his nationals to seek economic opportunities and jobs in 7ambia…the 7ambian President, Luyando Mwamba Lungu said govt was studying the matter and that a statement would be issued soon.
