Lackson Mangani Still Using Toyota Prado ABX 4470, PF Above The Law?

Government should explain to the people of Zambia if the Charity Munganga Chanda’s state investigation team on corruption is only championing its fight on the former members of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) according to Zambianstar. This follows the number of cases that have been disclosed is only among the former members.” It has come to our attention that some of the MMD vehicles have sine been confiscated.” It Said.
The online publication asked  why former Chipata central member of parliament and home Affairs Minister in the previous administration Lameck Mangani, now under the Patriotic Front (PF) comfort is still using a Toyota Prado ABX 4470. “Does it mean that PF is a no go area for the task force?” It asked.

these are the questions that need to be answered. Does it mean that if you join PF you will be spared from the fight against corruption? All i can say is that this is a very very sad development.

Do your home work before you criticise. According to Conditions of Services for Ministers and Permanents, they are entitled to purchase official vehicles assigned to them. Confirm your facts before you criticise.

Do some research before you publish the story, Ministers are sold the vehicles at the end of there tenure, & Mangani was fired almost at the end of the MMD’s tenure. So the vehicle he is using is his.

I thought TUMFWEKO is supposed to clarify this before publishing.Almost all former ministers, deputy ministers are still driving government vehicles which were given to them as per their conditions of service when they sieze to hold office. DO NOT SHOW YOUR IGNORANCE LIKE THIS. Kankale ka last kamene aka. Infact the name is Lameck not Lackson

Crap!!! Tumfweko, news is not about announcing or making announcements. News is all about getting to the roots and then inform the others of your findings. Heads of quasi-government companies, PS’, Cab Ministers are entitled to purchase their personal to holder vehicles, moreover, MPs are entitled to purchase vehicles of their choice for as long it is within the limit that has been set.Tapali efyo tumfwiile, no news at all.

  32. chandaphil

    April 13, 2012 at 3:14 pm

we also need to understand is that Mangani is a former MP and Minister, hence he had some privilages such as the government buying him a car which he has the option of buying if he so wishes, thats why Kenneth Konga’s hummer was handed back to him.

  33. Lamjet

    April 13, 2012 at 3:45 pm

former ministers and permanent secretary’s are given an option to purchase cars thats they had as personal to holder, it takes time to change these number plates because of govt processes. it is sad that a well read paper like this one(tufweko) is exhibiting high levels of ignorance on matters that are common knowledge

    April 16, 2012 at 1:22 pm

People ought to know that those who qualify for personal to holder vehicles can buy them after four years of use. I do not seem to get information here whether Mangani bought the vehicle in question and if so, did he pay for it. I say this, because the vehicle in contention now bears a private registration number and not a GRZ one.

Of course I know that each GRZ vehicle has an assigned private number, which is ONLY used under controlled circumstances, the Mangani case not being one of such.
