Zambian Student In Tears After Getting Death Sentence
SHAH ALAM: A 25-year-old Zambian student broke down in tears after the High Court sentenced her to death for trafficking 1.3kg of methamphetamine.
Nachilongo Doreen sobbed upon learning about her conviction and sentence through an interpreter here yesterday.
She was charged with trafficking the drugs in front of the international arrival hall at KL International Airport in Sepang at 3pm on Feb 23, last year.
Justice Noor Azian Shaari, in her ruling, said the court did not accept the accused’s claim that the drugs were planted in her bag when she was detained by the Immigration Department for eight hours.
“From the way the drugs were properly placed at the bottom of the bag and how it was glued, the court finds it impossible for the drugs to be planted in her bag during her detention,” said the judge.
Justice Noor Azian also pointed out that although the accused claimed she had come to Malaysia to look for a job, her flight ticket stated that she was only staying in the country for a week.
Records also showed the accused had booked a stay at the Hilton Hotel.
“I find her defence to be unreasonable. The defence has failed to raise a reasonable doubt in the case,” she added before passing the mandatory death sentence.
The accused was represented by Amrit Pal Singh while DPP Suzana Abd Latiff appeared for the prosecution

Do you know why drugs are prohibited? A drug charge even in America carries the harshest sentence you can get.Have you ever seen the first hand effect of hard drugs on people? Have you ever heard of a junk, crack head or simply addict? It hurts to see your loved one turn into a zombie.Drugs bring nothing good but crime and all sorts of vices.Drugs addiction is the worst hill of society.Zambia is slowly turning into a drug den.I urge all civil and religious organizations to please get this message of drug abuse to youths and old people too instead of politicking.Do not think that some countries are harsh to sentence drug dealers to death.Its common knowledge when you take drugs to china, you die by firing squard.It is just recently that a SA woman was excuted in China over drugs.

Its got nothing to do with being Zambian

Dick, for real what has TB Joshua got to do with this. Did he tell her to traffic in drugs, leave him out of this and careful what you say about God’s anointed. May God deliver you. The Americans could have fought to have her back home and proved her innocent. African countries are weak, the let their pipo die especially in countries like Malaysia,china and our governments are quiet about it.its sad even when pipo do not learn from others mistakes. just work hard and put your faith and trust in God and He will surely bless the works of your hands.
