Man (43) Jailed For Performing Virginity Tests On His Daughter (16)
A 43 year old Kwekwe man has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for inserting his finger into his 16 year old daughter’s privates to “test her virginity”
The man on Monday pleaded guilty to indecent assault and was convicted by Kwekwe magistrate Taurai Manuwere.
In mitigation, the man said his actions had been prompted by suspicions that his daughter was involved in promiscuous activities.
“She had become a serious problem for me after she was expelled from school after she was caught watching pornographic videos in class. I enrolled her into a private college but she was chased away again after being caught in a compromising position with a male pupil. I took her to another college but she was expelled again resulting in me in doing this foolish act that I now deeply regret,” said the man.
However, Manuwere was not convinced and sentenced the man to 36 months in prison but suspended 18 months on condition of good behavior.
