Breaking News: UNZA Students Mobilise For 2nd Day Demos, Huge Fire Lit At Monk Square

SECOND day protests are loaming at the University of Zambia Great East road campus..
A huge fire has been lit by irate University of Zambia students at the Monk Square near the Old Residence in what is shaping up to be a 2nd day of night time protests at the country’s highest institution of learning.

According to the latest information, a meeting was held earlier today Wednesday 6/28 to resolve the on-going impasse but no conclusive decision has yet been except another meeting has been slated for tomorrow by all lecturers affiliated to UNZALARU.

Interestingly well placed sources claim the UNZASU President Ali Tunkara was somehow locked out of the meeting, which included the Minister of Education Dr John Phiri and his Permanent Secretary.

Tumfweko is keeping a close eye on the situation and will keep you updated as the drama unfolds…

With modern technology there should be no need for physical demos and protests. Unzasu president should instead e-mobilise the students to hold an e-protest and light an e-fire at the web monk square and demand that Unza Vice Chacellor and Minister of education gives them an e-address to resolve the impasse. This way nobody gets hurt!

Whats the rationale behind constructing two new public universities when the old ones are collapsing in both structural and managerial infrastructure?
