Simataa Simataa Stays Away From Kasolo’s ‘Kangaroo Court’

Football administrator Simataa Simataa yesterday stayed away from the FAZ disciplinary committee meeting.

Simataa confirmed he had not appeared before the Anthony Kasolo-led disciplinary committee on account that the charge in case was already before the High Court.

“I did not appear before them on two accounts: (1) I had not received legal counsel since the case is before the court. Actually FAZ also sued me after I sued “(2) The verdict – LIFE BAN was pronounced sometime ago by the Disciplinary Committee chairman. I confirmed his proclamation through a number of sources including mutual sources,” he said.

Simataa said he delivered the letter to FAZ on Saturday morning stating his position around 07:50 hours on Saturday June 30.

“Had it not been for these two compelling reasons I would have appeared. After surviving 3 suspension + 1 life ban nothing moves me,” he added.

Kasolo, at the height of FAZ confusion in 2010 and last year, attempted to humiliate Simataa with suspension and a life ban that fell through at appeal stage.

During that process Simataa filed a legal suit against FAZ general secretary George Kasengele, communications officer Erick Mwanza and cashier Sam Phiri for alleged defamation.

In turn, FAZ decided to file a suit against Simataa for alleged forgery and both matters are before the High Court in Zambia.
